Robert Scott

Robert represents mid-market and large enterprise companies in software license transactions and disputes with major software publishers such as Adobe, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and SAP. He has defended over 250 software audit matters initiated by software piracy trade groups such as the BSA and SIIA. He is counsel to some of the world’s largest corporations, such as Schlumberger, PepsiCo, Iron Mountain and American Express, on information technology matters including intellectual property licensing, risk management, data privacy, and outsourcing.

Julie Machal-Fulks

After a one-year clerkship with a federal magistrate judge, Julie Machal-Fulks has spent her 21-year legal career on the team at Scott & Scott. She has been an equity partner in the firm since 2008.

Over the years, Julie’s practice has included software license interpretation, software audit defense, issues involving privacy and network security, and copyright and trademark infringement. Julie has defended clients in more than 250 software audits involving Autodesk, Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, and Oracle. Today she leads her clients through the software licensing process from procurement to audit defense and everything in between. Known as the “Commander” inside the firm, Julie is comfortable taking the lead the role in major transactions and disputes.

Keli Johnson Swan

As an associate attorney at Scott & Scott, LLP, Keli’s practice is focused on representing clients facing software audits by industry trade groups and software publishers. Keli also has a strong background in litigation and licensing.

In her thirteen years with the firm, she has defended more than 290 BSA | The Software Alliance, Autodesk, Microsoft, and SIIA cases. Keli is a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in Designing, Assessing, and Optimizing Software Asset Management, and provides clients a corporate framework for software license compliance to protect themselves against potential copyright infringement claims.
